You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This study explores how students’ past living environments influence their current soundscape preferences when studying in outdoor spaces.
By participating, you will complete an online survey where you can customize your ideal outdoor study soundscape and answer questions about your background and experiences. The survey will take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete, and you may skip any questions you do not wish to answer.
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time without penalty. All responses will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes. No personally identifiable information will be collected unless explicitly stated. Data will be securely stored and accessible only to the research team.
There are minimal risks associated with participation, and while there are no direct benefits, your input will contribute to valuable research insights on outdoor learning environments.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact Hanbing Liang at hliang8@wisc.edu or call 517-580-9919. If you have concerns about your rights as a research participant, you may contact the Institutional Review Board.
By proceeding, you acknowledge that you have read this consent statement, understand its contents, and voluntarily agree to participate in this survey.
